Non-Pleated Sheer Curtain (Plain)

1:2 Pleat (Sparse Pleat 1×2)

1:2.5 Pleat (Medium Pleat 1×2.5)
-
1:3 Pleat (Dense Pleat 1×3)
Pleat density in sheer and drapery curtains greatly changes their overall appearance. If you are planning to have custom-made sheer curtains, you need to make the right choice because not every space requires the same type of pleats. Depending on customer preference, non-pleated, sparse pleat, medium pleat, and dense pleat options can be selected.
Non-Pleated Sheer Curtain (Plain)
As the name suggests, non-pleated sheer curtains are plain. They have no pleats and can be used as side panels. Non-pleated models are generally preferred in curtains and roller blinds. When sheer fabric is hung over them, it prevents an asymmetrical look. If you intend to use sheer curtains for roller blinds or side panel purposes, make sure to choose them non-pleated.
1:2 Pleat (Sparse Pleat 1×2)
The first pleat density ratio is 1:2, considered a sparse pleat. It can sometimes be preferred for roller blinds or side panels. However, it is mostly chosen in bedrooms or living rooms where simplicity is desired. If you don’t like dense pleats but want a lightly pleated look, sheer curtains with a 1:2 pleat ratio are a good option.
1:2.5 Pleat (Medium Pleat 1×2.5)
The standard pleat density ratio is 1:2.5, the most commonly preferred choice. Known as medium pleat, this ratio works well in living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and children’s rooms. With its balanced pleat density, it fits seamlessly into any home décor. If you’re unsure what to choose, medium pleat sheer curtains are the safest choice.
1:3 Pleat (Dense Pleat 1×3)
The last pleat density ratio is 1:3, known as dense pleat. These curtains are very tightly pleated with no gaps in between. If you prefer dense pleats, you should specify 1:3 when ordering custom curtains. It is the second most popular pleat ratio after medium pleats. Due to the weight and elegance it brings, it is often preferred in guest rooms and living rooms.

Choosing Sheer Curtain Colors
White represents purity, cleanliness, peace, and spirituality. Since it reflects light, it adds brightness, freshness, and energy to spaces. White is often used to create calm environments, and it relaxes both the eyes and the soul. It also makes interiors appear more spacious and enhances stability and trust in office settings. For this reason, it is frequently chosen by architects. Additionally, white is widely used in places where hygiene is essential, such as hospitals, dental clinics, pharmaceutical companies, and pharmacies. It harmonizes with other tones by adapting to lighting conditions.
Measuring for Sheer Curtains
When measuring for sheer curtains, measure wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor, and provide width and length dimensions. Leave a 3–4 cm gap from the floor if desired. Since sheer curtains involve a 10 cm hem fold, you can extend them by 5–6 cm if needed. Enter your measurements in centimeters.
