Single Cord Shimmery Armure Plain Sheer Curtain – Pleat Density Ratios
- Pleatless Sheer Curtain (No Pleats)
- 1 to 2 Pleats (Sparse Pleats 1×2)
- 1 to 2.5 Pleats (Medium Pleats 1×2.5)
- 1 to 3 Pleats (Dense Pleats 1×3)
Paying attention to pleat density in sheer curtains and drapes greatly affects their appearance. If you are considering having custom-made sheer curtains, it is important to make the right choice, as not all spaces use the same style of sheers. Depending on customer preference, pleatless, sparse, medium, or dense pleats can be selected.
- Pleatless Sheer Curtain (No Pleats)
As the name suggests, pleatless sheer curtains are flat without pleats and can be used as panels. Pleatless models are often preferred in drapes and blackout linings.
This prevents an asymmetrical appearance when layered with other fabrics. If you plan to use sheer curtains as linings or panels, be sure to specify them as pleatless.
- 1 to 2 Pleats (Sparse Pleats 1×2)
The first pleat density option is 1×2, which falls into the sparse category. Sometimes used as linings or panels, but more commonly chosen in bedrooms or living rooms where simplicity is preferred. If you don’t like dense pleats but still want a lightly gathered look, opt for 1×2 pleated sheer curtains.
- 1 to 2.5 Pleats (Medium Pleats 1×2.5)
The standard and most popular ratio is 1×2.5 pleats, also known as medium pleats. These sheers are versatile and suitable for living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, or children’s rooms. Since they have a balanced pleat density, they easily adapt to any interior. If you are unsure, choosing 1×2.5 pleated sheers is a safe option.
- 1 to 3 Pleats (Dense Pleats 1×3)
The last pleat density is 1×3, known as dense pleats. These curtains have very tight pleats with no gaps. If you like a highly gathered look, specify 1×3 pleats when ordering custom curtains. After medium pleats, this is the second most preferred ratio. It is often chosen for living rooms and guest rooms, as it adds elegance and formality.

Choosing the Color of Sheer Curtain
White represents cleanliness, purity, peace, and sanctity. As it reflects light, it brings brightness, spaciousness, and energy to interiors. It symbolizes elegance and calmness, making it suitable for creating cool atmospheres. White is often chosen by architects because it relaxes the eyes and mind, makes spaces appear larger, and enhances continuity, stability, and trust in office settings. It is also widely used in health-related spaces such as hospitals, dental clinics, pharmaceutical companies, and pharmacies due to its association with hygiene. Additionally, white adapts to lighting conditions, complementing color transitions within the room.

Measuring Curtains
When measuring sheer curtains, take measurements wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor, and provide both width and height. Leave a 3–4 cm gap from the floor according to your preference. Since sheer curtain sewing includes a 10 cm hem fold, you can have your sheers extended by 5–6 cm if needed. Always provide your measurements in centimeters.
